I’vm working with more and more folks who may have Lyme or have been diagnosed with Lyme. This, along with my own history, prompted me to share this homeopathic perspective on Lyme disease.

Lyme (or any infectious) disease reflects an individual’s susceptibility to the disease (or the bacteria). Not everyone who gets a tick “bite” develops Lyme disease, and not everyone with Lyme disease has gotten a tick “bite.” (Quotations because it is not exactly a bite, rather it is more of a puncture wound). Also to note, some of us are more susceptible than others to the ticks themselves.

The disease arises because the bacteria or the tick (the vector) resonates with the level of susceptibility of the individual, and in cases of epidemics, with the susceptibility of the collective. Susceptibility is a prerequisite for the disease.

Susceptibility

Susceptibility means there is a predisposition to a disease. This predisposition may vary slightly with everyday environmental or lifestyle factor s(sleep, diet, exercise), but it is greatly impacted by suppression, intense acute conflicts, and energetic inheritance (aka miasms in homeopathy).

In this way, the bacteria is not the villain. Rather, it is a messenger, or catalyst, which reveals an inner (or collective) energetic disturbance.

Addressing the symptoms or the bacteria alone does nothing to uproot the susceptibility to the disease. Lyme, like syphilis, reveals itself again and again in the body, unless the susceptibility is addressed.

Thus, homeopaths do not “treat” Lyme disease; rather we strive to uproot an individual’s susceptibility to the disease on the energetic level.

A resonant homeopathic remedy does this by catalyzing expression where there has been suppression, supporting the conflict resolution, and clearing miasmatic blocks to healing. Homeopathy is a powerful catalyst that ignites your innate healing capacity, not just for right now, but also for the future (and for future generations, too).

Note: Be sure to see my previous post on remedies to consider immediately after a tick bite. These remedies can help to reduce your susceptibility.
